Pohutukawa Tree

There're two tall trees in my garden that blossoms beautiful red flowers during the holiday season. I just found out that they are actually Pohutukawa trees. The flowers are just lovely and I took some pictures to share with you guys!

Pohutukawa flower from November to January with a peak in mid to late December (the southern hemisphere summer), with a brilliant crimson flower covering the canopy, hence their nickname the New Zealand Christmas Tree.

However Pohutukawa trees are under threat due to browsing by the brushtail possum introduced from Australia, which strip the trees of their leaves... I'll need to take better care of the endangered native trees in the garden!

what other kinds of lemon could you be getting from a plant? .. :p
If the soil is acidic and it gets alot of sun you'll soon be making lemonade :D good luck.
Adrian many people from the forum PJ gave you have been to New Zealand and met with D&R. It's a good place to start gathering information. good luck.
