Pasifika Festival ~15 years~

New Zealand society is culturally diverse. 11% of the population is composed of Pacific Islanders, and in the past 15 years, they have been running the "Pasifika Festival" in Western Spring for annual celebration. The venture was divided into different sections according to the countries. People from Samoa, Niu, Cook Islands, Tonga etc were performing and introducing their distinctive foods. It's great of them not to forget their own roots even they've migrated to another country. I had a great day at the festival, everyone was friendly and the food was nice.

Me with deep fried bread & butter, toffee pudding
and taro leaf desert.

Roasted whole pork.

Little girl wants a bite of pineapple & ice cream :)

Auckland Lantern Festival '07

In the past few years, Auckland City has been celebrating Lantern Festival ... I went to the event at Albert Park on 3rd March 2007, still feeling tired.. all I can remember is people, people and more people! Didn't know we have so many residents in A-town.. wondering where they are hiding on normal days?
